Language Specialists
TAPIT members are specialists in many languages and linguistic fields. The majority of our members are interpreters in judicial and medical settings. However, we have sign language interpreters who use visually transmitted sign patterns, hand shapes, and movements to convey meaning to and from the deaf and hearing impaired. We also have members who not only interpret but translate documents from one written language to another usually via e-mail or fax which allows contact with clients all over the world. Then, there are members who are involved in TT, tape translation and transcription, which can be tapes, CD, video or other media.
