Announcement: We are excited to announce the 2008 6th annual TAPIT Conference to be held September 12-14, 2008 on the campus of Belmont University in Nashville, TN. This year, we are pleased to announce that if you attend all 3 days of the conference, you will fulfill the three-year requirement for general and foreign language credits! Also, there will be twice as many exhibitors, including veterans Intrans Book Service and Tennessee Foreign Language Institute, plus many newcomers such as interpreter equipment supplier TN Communications. TAPIT is a professional
organization for interpreters and translators of written, spoken and
signed languages in Tennessee. Among Tapit's members are
experts in diverse specialties and professional fields such as
judicial, medical and other technical fields.
The creation of such an organization could not have
come at a better time. Professional interpretation and translation
facilitates communication for Tennessee's businesses and
governmental agencies, as well as their peers and clients all over
the world.
Professional interpretation and translation bridges
gaps, breaks down language barriers, and helps to ensure effective
communication between Tennesseans with and without English
proficiency, in the public and private sectors.
TAPIT especially encourages the participation of sign
language interpreters.
