12/19/07 - Bilingual Medical Receptionist

Siloam Family Health Center

Siloam Family Health Center , a faith-based Christ-centered health clinic, has an immediate opening for a full-time, Bilingual Medical Receptionist.

Medical Receptionist

·         The primary objective of the Medical Receptionist is to provide a point of contact for patients through appointment scheduling and act as a focal point of communication between patients, doctors, nurses, other clinic staff and community partners.

Candidate must have a high school diploma, and one or more years experience working in medical office setting or clinical environment.  This individual must be fluent in Spanish and expected to work one Saturday a month.

More about the Clinic

Siloam Family Health Clinic’s purpose is to provide affordable, high-quality health care to the uninsured and those who slip through the cracks in the health care system because of time, money and language barriers.  Patients who are stressed financially may apply to a sliding fee scale to have their cost dramatically reduced.

Siloam opened its doors in 1991 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit ministry to live out the Biblical and historical commitment of the Church to care for the poor and the sick.  Siloam’s statement of mission is to share the love of Christ by serving those in need through health care.  All that we do is reflective of this mission.

More than 79% of Siloam’s patients are refugees and immigrants representing 100 different homelands coming from all over the Nashville area.  Siloam, also, has an exciting mentoring program to area university medical students, interns and residents and others.  This provides future health care professionals the opportunity to serve in a faith-based setting serving people who are marginalized by our health care system.  Community volunteers serve as physicians, nurse practitioners, physical and occupational therapists, nurses, interpreters and special project giving more than 12,000 hours annually.  As our volunteers and staff reach out to an underserved population, we see our efforts impacting the cycle of poverty.  Instead of poverty bringing sickness and sickness bringing poverty, we provide an opportunity for health and a message of hope.

The Staff

We are a team of committed Christian missionaries---physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, medical assistants, clerks, volunteer team, fundraiser, administrator and president/CEO.  We are blessed with more than 400 people in the community who serve in every capacity from physician to special project volunteers
